Monday, 27 October 2008 – Ocean Beach Moutihe

October 27th, 2008 · No Comments

In the way weather does at this time of year, after two days of windy wet weather the sun comes out and the sea sparkles with the promise of summer.

We left Waikalabubu Bay and headed to Ocean Beach for lunch – felt like anyone who had a boat had the same idea. Moutihe is only accessible if you have a boat – it is uninhabited and has no ferry service but has crescent sandy beaches and good walks and is only an hour and a half by boat from Auckland (slow sail boat that is!).

I made lunch (well put together cold meat, cheese and salad).

Beef, brawn, cheese, tomoto & cucumber

And then we headed home – we’d been protected by Motuihe and it was still blowing at 20-25 knots with a short chop but we had a good trip and were back in out berth by just after 4:00.
