Wednesday, 13 October 2008 – Jet-boating in Freo

October 17th, 2008 · No Comments

Rob’s last day so we were feeling a bit flat – could not make up our minds on what to do. So we headed to Freo – when in doubt beer and fish & chips is not a bad option. After lunch, on impulse, we went for a jet boat trip. It was a beautiful day and at 31 degrees quite hot, so a fantastic day to be out on the water. And it was awesome – we flew around, spun, jumped wakes and got very wet.

Then we went to the shipwreck museum – I had been reluctant, spending as much time on the water as we do I prefer not to think about shipwrecks, – but it was well worth visiting. Ships from the Dutch East India company would leave Holland, sail south and round the Cape of Good Hope  then head east and turn north when they reached Australia. And many of them missed the turn north with dire consequences.

We headed home, went out for a pub dinner with Ross & Mark and the dropped Rob at airport.
