Perth is on the humpback highway – the humpback whales return from their winters in warmer climes to their breeding grounds in the southern ocean. They basically follow the west coast south till they reach Rottnest Island and then turn right and head south. Very impressive – we are told! Yep we did the whale watch boat trip and did see a whale, in the far far distance. But it was good to be out on the water. I took photos with my mega telephoto lens and when home can photoshop them to make it look like we were right next to them – if I can be fagged.
After whale not-watching we went to the aquarium and a very good aquarium it was – big tanks, walk through tunnel, really interesting.
Then home, Mark got back last night and Ross was working a day in Brisbane so Mark, Rob and I went to the pub – as you do when you are waiting for someone to arrive. Some drinks later we decided to eat, but kitchen was closed so we came home and had fried haloumi (a greek cheese) and pork rolls. I’d make roast pork the night before and rolls with thickly sliced pork, apples and salad after a few (well some literary licence there) was very yummy.
We then struggled to stay awake until Ross got home at about midnight.
