Well we had an interesting day – and not in a good way. Forecast was for 15 knot southeast winds with slight sea and 1m swell. Sounds good, yep. Winds were stronger and swell was much bigger. With a following wind and swells rolling in on our starboard beam Zinkwazi rolled like a pig. Oh well only two disasters
– a tub of raspberry jab got broken so there was raspberry jam all over the kitchen bench and dripping into the lockers under the bench and the two kingfish we caught were undersized and had to go back into the water.

We were planning to take the middle passage through the Cavalli’s but water was too broken and we could not see passage clearly so headed out and took the upper passage. With the Cavalli’s breaking the swell we had a more comfortable trip for last part of trip. But all good, we dropped the pick in a beautifully calm bay in Whangaroa Harbour at about 5:00.

Tomato risotto with panchetta and choritzo sausage for supper while watching a big launch botch anchor set after anchor set and we are all good.

I enjoyed this post! Enjoyed all the ones before too, but not as much as I will enjoy the one coming up with all the fish!
