Islington Bay, Auckland – 21-1-10

January 23rd, 2010 · No Comments

Almost over.

We are anchored in Issy Bay after a good sail down from Kawau. Only about 30 miles and we had good winds, moving from forward of the beam to full aft when we very elegantly goosewinged (main and genoa on opposite sides) for a short while. Ran into a squall off East Coast Bays but weather settled after Rangi light and we had a beautiful evening.

We’ll probably head into Westhaven tomorrow – Zinkwazi needs a good wash down and a tidy up below. But lockers, fridges and freezers are starting to look empty. For last week I’ve been using the last of various items. Rob has finished off his rum – very sad as he thought he had another bottle! I do hate to see grown men cry.
