We’ve had a very good day. Except when pharmacy building caught fire and we had to get out. But Rob had already got his prescription and I was just browsing so callously we just moved on to the fishing tackle shop.
Today was the tall ships race so we sailed the course (well it was probably the course – we went with all the other boats). Was a spectacle – Spirit of New Zealand, Soren Larsen, the Tucker and a lot of other old sail boats and even more modern ones all under sail. So sea between Russell and Pahia was a mass of sails. We got some good steady winds of 10-13 knots so had a really good sail – wind was just off the bow so we got some good speeds tacking up the harbour. Was fun.
We returned to Opunga Cove for the night and were entertained by a pod of dolphins who frolicked in the cove. Very special.
